pretty much everything they've done is essential, although I personally can't really get into the debut much

absolutely check Worship and Tribute though, also CB and OCG if you're able to (these three would be the most "essential" listens imo)

this album rules as well

Lord I love this band so much. Shira and Golgotha fucking kill. And I think Our Color Green is the peek of Glassjaw.

this was such a disappointment in hindsight, but i guess i couldn't expect another eyewtkas or w&t

idk, just feels like a higgledy-piggledy assortment of glassjaw flavoured songs

@ddd ahhhh if you've seen em a bunch then i understand, i've only seen em once but they were awesome and the inner 13 year old in me was ecstatic lmao.

and yeah idk this isn't groundbreaking and i was kinda disappointed in it at first but it's another amazing and unique entry into their discog. just some solid ass old school post-hardcore. i do wish we got some harsh vox though.

Yeah, the yelling doesn't quite do it for me either. It's probably a combo of Daryl being older, trying to take care of his voice, and just not being that interested in that vocal style anymore but I still miss the vocal brutality on records like Our Color Green.

yeah or it could be what he wanted to do just for this album. they definitely wanted to do this in an old school style (they talk about it in one of their interviews). i guess we'll see how the next one is whenever they put something else out since they switch shit up like every release.

definitely would have loved some john lennon type vox on here at some point.

Daryl doing yelling over screaming is intentional, he was basically doing his best George impression from Mind Over Matter, he's always emulated him to a degree.

Listen to Automanipulation by Mind Over Matter and Material Control will make a lot more sense https://mindovermatterlihc.bandcamp.com/album/automanipulation-2

Am I the only one who just tires of Daryl almost instantly? The only time I've ever truly dug him was Head Automatica's first album.

This doesn't compare to the other albums, but it's still a solid ass piece or work. m/
