I've noticed that dynamic range and the loudness war have become a common talking point on sputnik lately which is amusing considering how long it's been a problem.
This album doesn't have the dynamics of an album from the 70s sure, but it's not anywhere close to being one of the worst offenders in death metal or metal in general. It's not the most organic mix given the claustrophobic, oppressive wall of sound that they're trying to achieve here. Honestly though, given everything that's going on here, the mix still has room to breath. The guitars still warm, you can still feel the dynamics of the drum kit. I personally don't feel the vocals are too low in the mix at all - any higher and they would be overbearing. I do wish the bass was a bit more prominent. The final master doesn't clip.
Essentially, I think the complaints are overblown.

If the problem is solely just loudness or compression, just turn it down. It's mixed well enough that those things really aren't an issue.
