Honor was more enjoyable, this is just a lot of nothing to me, it's like they didn't have anything to write about and just released this on autopilot, hence the lenght

yep, it's really not close - maybe I would be more forgiving if this was an accompanying EP or something, which given its relatively short length (for Neurosis) and the lack of new ideas, doesn't feels blasphemous to suggest

this is marginally better than I recall, just feels a lil undercooked and not as easy to get lost in as most of their back catalogue

Decay has a very unique identity and feeling in my mind (folky, earthy & primordial) with one of the most monumental songs of theirs to this day: At the Well. This album here doesn't really have an identity.

Haven't listened to this album in a while but I couldn't tell you a single thing I remember from it so i guess that tracks with it being run of the mill.

I don't love Honour but At the Well is pretty good, aye.
This does feel lacking in the identity department yet even auto-pilot Neurosis has merit. I'll probably try again cos yeah admittedly I remember jack all about this until revisiting this morning lol.
