80s Rush used to be my least fav era of theirs but it’s grown on me so much. Alex’s guitar tones in this era was peak

Agreed on both counts. Despite the fact that Hemispheres and A Farewell to Kings are two of my favorite Rush albums, I find myself listening to 80s Rush more often than not these days. Grace Under Pressure and Power Windows are so damn close to masterpiece status for me

Middletown Dreams and Emotion Detector are some of Rush's most underrated tracks from their 80's era, they send chills through my body every damn time I listen to them

Personal fav Rush album. It isn't the best, but it is my fav. I'm glad Geddy holds it in as much high esteem as I do.
Marathon to Mystic Rhythms is peak music.

Excited to check this one out on my upcoming Rush binge. Surprised I haven't heard it yet, given that GUP is my favourite Rush.

If GUP is your favorite, this one shouldn't be too far off.......80's Rush is best Rush in my opinion

I think I'm in that same camp. Signals, MP, and PW are among my favourite Rush albums. GUP always the #1 tho.
So far I've done: Pink Floyd, Genesis, King Crimson, and Camel (nearly done this one; amazing band) for my overly ambitious no-lifer top 10 prog rock band discographies list. Thinking I'll do Rush next. I've heard most of their stuff barring like 5 albums, but it'll be fun to revisit + check out the ones I don't know, like this. Trying to figure out the ordering I should do the remaining bands in - maybe you guys can help. I've got: Gentle Giant, Jethro Tull, Rush, Van der Graaf Generator, and Yes left.

i think you should start with Rush, then Yes, Gentle giant, JT and finally VDGG. while you can skip a few albums from these bands (especially Yes after 1983), you shouldnt skip any rush albums
