I need tu bump this up immediately. Gave it a spin today and it instantly got so much better than I remembered.
I just realized this sounds like prime Dissection playing a more doom oriented type of folkish black metal.

left of field dissection by the batter who goes with a controversial (and certainly not classical) approach… dem bands do melodies rather differently to me, don’t hear much melo-black tendencies ere me laddie
Also revisited this on the train and am steadfast in my belief that this is v much an album of moments, and not necessarily a consistent one. The highs are lovely tho
