My sequence for the last three albums was Arche -> Uroboros -> Dum Spiro Spero, worked perfectly well. I gave each of them at least one or two months to get to really know it, and they really need and deserve that. After that, the Unravelling EP would be a possibility.

The EP is definitely recommended (grab the version that includes "Macabre") and it will ease you into the older material.

Arche is definitely the best to start with then head over to Uro and lastly DSS just as Rik said. Arche is the most accessible of the 3 but also showcases the various soundscapes they touched on throughout their entire career. Of the big 3 DSS is the darkest and also probably the hardest to get into, but once you enjoy it it's super rewarding. Uro has crept back up to being my fav and it isn't a bad place to start but it's definitely extremely dense. All of them take months to fully absorb (imo) but the journey is incredible.

Don't forget their other stuff if you like those. Came home for Christmas, really nice to see my Dir collection all lined up again :]

I like all of the ballads on Kisou. They're all spectacular. I'm evolving :3

Mate Mushi and Embyro live are the greatest.

I'm really into Kisou's soft songs. Like REALLY into them. 24ko and Undecided are incredible as well. The more I dig into their live stuff and older stuff the more I appreciate MOAB and Withering as well.

Kisou always brings out the best of Dir live, songs like Filth and Milk you don't really get anywhere else and the ballads rule.

I haven't gotten into Filth yet but I'm trying! And for sure, I never knew they were so good at writing ballads. By the way, Sput doesn't have dm's/pm's does it?

Filth suffers by the ill fitting production in studio but live it's a banger and it's so fun with the crowd singing along. Plus the music video is iconic. You got Discord or Skype (ideally Discord)? I use that for PM's.

@xi
You're right about Kisou ballads being amazing, with "Mushi" as my favourite pre-Uro song. I'd say they've always been good at them, so the future album should deliver at least in that regard.

Yeah, Kisou used to be in the middle/upper bottom tier for me. But revisiting the album recently, it's actually grown immensely on me and I quite enjoy as much as I do w/Vulgar, Gauze, and Withering to death.
And I agree with the Kisou ballads being amazing. I'd go as far as saying it's the album w/the best ballads.
