does anyone dare to review the chilling teachings in silence double EP? it's rare i put this record on but by god it's enshrouding, an esoteric classic for sure, a 5, even.
side C has some awful scratching, how did that happen.. not exactly an easily replaced record, either. shame on me.

That’s actually one of the only Ulver releases I haven’t heard yet.

they have the same spirit as perdition city, though a more basic skeleton. simple, repetitive, hypnotic, glitchy melodies and vocal utterings. think lyckantropen themes, but more brooding and eerie.
definitely check, dude. there are some gorgeous melodies despite the eeriness

@Trifo: I skim read that review & part of me died inside, not because of the rating but due to how unbelievably poor & downright condescending the writing was. Most of it consisted of flinging nonsensical abuse at the album in an attempt to look cool in a social context. Try discussing the music, not criticising the music for what you think it wants to be. How many times do they say 'sounds like the type of thing this guy would listen to' blah blah blah, paraphrasing of course. Oh & try not to use the word creepy 16,000 times.
Damn, that actually made me angry, just because you expect some semblance of competence from a writer on a well established music site like that.
