"Toussaint L'Ouverture is fucking awful."
Yep, pretty much. Basically the reason why this will never eclipse the seer for me

Honestly, the thing I dislike the most about Toussaint L'Ouverture is that Bring the Sun is actually cool.

you guys have got me absolutely twisted. the entirety of "Bring the Sun / Toussaint L'Ouverture" is a goddamned gift and we are lucky to have it.
Oxygen is also amazing, though, yes.

I have had all of the post-reunion albums fived at one point or another since the Seer was released, and they are still in a state of fluctuation. They are all more or less even in quality for me, but I think that the lengths tend to be detriments in the case of the Glowing Man, the Seer, and My Father given that To Be Kind is much more consistent and explosive with its track listing and length. It's the only one out of the four that truly feels like a masterpiece and a seminal release for the band and given decade. It's just really difficult to find the time these days to spin any of them from start to finish unfortunately, and for that reason, I find myself more often than not, coming back to the 80s and early 90s material.

maybe i have it easier because i have a desk job, so i essentially have 8-10 hours each day to listen to music freely (excepting the occasional meeting), but i never struggle to get through this, The Seer, or The Glowing Man. (Soundtracks for the Blind, on the other hand...)
