Ha. Imagine DT trying to immitate PT, or the other way around. John P. will be bored within seconds after having played just two notes and not a quadramillion. Barbieri will have endure a musical crisis when he'll have to cope with a synth solo of 238512304981 notes. Steven Wilson will be confused as hell when he'll have to write cheesy lyrics of self endurance and La Brie will go up and down in the studio crying he is a modest man and will never sing about trainwrecks.

"Steven Wilson will be confused as hell when he'll have to write cheesy lyrics"
he has been doing that for like 20 years already so i don't think he'll be confused at all. i have never listened to pt for their lyrics

Yeah, his lyrics are not the best but they are definitely better than this:
Shed your light on me
Be my eyes when I can’t see
Shed your light on me
Be my guide so I can see
The bigger picture

Or the best line of the album: "Pain is real like a cut that bleeds"

''Or the best line of the album: "Pain is real like a cut that bleeds"''
It's a metaphor that states the obvious so that the listener has an exact picture of how real the pain is. The pain is real, cos pain. Ugh, uneducated pleb... ;)

DT once had an excellent lyricist in Kevin Moore.

Endless Sacrifice has beautiful lyrics, but I don't think we'll see much of that anymore

@mythodea haha, well I just think DT could learn a lot from PT's focus on good songwriting than a trillion notes in a minute

ugh yeah moore's lyrics on space-dye vest are so touching. myung is a pretty decent lyricist as well, it's a shame he doesn't write them that often

They sound more honest and human. Now they're reaching Disney standards, lyrically
|
| |
In my opinion, when it pertains to lyrics, “Endless sacrifice” won’t come close to the likes of “Space dye vest” or “Wait for sleep”.

Don't insult Disney like that, Philly.

They should just be an instrumental band, I have an instrumental version of BC&SL and at this point I've probably heard it more times than any of their others

I actually love James Labrie, but I totally understand why people don't like him as a vocalist.
This album, while good, is too formulaic to truly stand out from the rest of their albums.

He was so good, you had to say it twice. Disney are cool, bud Disney lyrics are just boring and
cliche. DT just need take a break and re-evaluate their tastes and direction for the band

Along for the Ride is one of the most bland DT tracks ever.

They should've done exactly what portnoy wanted, take a 5 year break and reaccess their priorities. plus he would still be in the band. Not that I mind mangina
