Meshuggah are proving to be a tough nut to crack, almost impenetrably tough in fact. I just find most of their stuff rather monotonous and repetitive.

I felt a bit overwhelmed when I listened to this for the first time and it was my first Shuggah, maybe I should've started somewhere else

album bangs hard as hell. only recently started dipping into the shugg waters (have so far jammed dei through this + obzen) but this is easily my favorite so far

I guess to clarify my take on obsidian, I agree that it doesn't need to be 8 mins long, but it sounds WAY better than yellow version imo
