Is there info on whether this band is split in that some members are mostly into the metal, some mostly into the acoustics and ambience, or do they all have the hybrid soul?

I loved Damnation, and Heritage was pretty good, but I can't help being disappointed that they're completely abandoning their metal sound. That combined with their softer side was what made them so special, instead of just paying tribute to prog/folk albums from the 70's like they're doing now.

Are the newer albums not metal at all? If so, that would be pretty disappointing. That is the exciting aspect of the music.
