this is not the review that should show up when you go to this album. 1.8 disparity between review and overall rating is kind of ridiculous.
yeah man so ridiculous that other people have opinions! @foxblood and meatsalad, please in your infinite wisdoms tell me how this is a "terrible review'. fuckwads

All default reviews should perfectly reflect the view of the commune, or maybe people should write their own reviews.
Think the review is fine, but the point about the album being for people who aren't fans of hip-hop seems a bit of a reach. Everyone I know in real life who likes this has been jamming a lot of hip-hop for decades, regularly go to shows, clubs, a handful are emcees themselves. Can see your point, I just think there's more breadth to people's tastes. I don't know if I like the album or not. It's like looking at a sort-of aesthetically pleasing car crash.

You may have a point but I don't see it's relevance. I wouldn't approach this in the same way I do other hip hop but that's why I like it

Actually yeah, I do see your point. It occurred to me as I posted that my mates are on the same page as me about this, more gazing at an oddity than imagining it as some triumph of originality.

ya that works too

As novelties go, though, I'd prefer something this abrasive to something more twee. Would rather see a hot person do a shit than, for example, dress in drag and do a little dance. I'm gonna stop thinking about this for awhile.

I dont look at this as a hip hop album tho. Its got alot of hardcore, industrial, noise, and whatever aspects to it. People throw around the "original" tag alot but this is pretty original from what I can tell. Original doesnt mean its good, but its cool for me.
Im always looking for experimental type stuff though so what other hip hip artists are doing something unique these days? To me death grips, while obv not being everyone's thing, is at least doing something a little different in a genre that seems pretty stagnant to my ears.
