Depends on your style really. Mantle has more acoustic ambience, where Ashes is more electric.

Ashes or PF would be better to start with imo, it actually took me like 5 listens or so to really understand and appreciate this album fully. Ashes was instant, but now it's only my 3rd favorite.

I can't seem to hate anything Agalloch does. Although, Marrow of the Spirit disappointed me when they went a more "ordinary" Black Metal feel on some of the songs. Closed up the atmospheres too much for my taste. Still it's a sweet album, hah.

"Things have been very quiet here, but I've been finalizing a few new songs for what will eventually be the 4th Sculptured album. However, my attention has mainly been given to the upcoming and fifth Agalloch album, as well as the upcoming Sol Invictus album that I guested as guitarist on.
