lift parts 1, 2 and 3 are the worst for dragging for me. temet nosce also kind of outstays its welcome, but I just don't get lift at all and i can't understand why.

more listens maybe? well, I've listened to that album to hell and back but who knows it might grow on me yet. this album took a hell of a lot of listens too.

but Temet Nosce is sooooo good...

And I'd disagree, I think this album is by far their most concise.

Most concise, yes. But it's also their least intense album

the intense moments still hit like a motherfucker though, even with the distortion taking somewhat of a backseat. i find the guitar tone of the rhythm guitar in the climaxes orgasmic for some reason.

Well, it's slightly less heavy than TGS, yeah. However, in my mind, it sacrifices no intensity. C'mon, the climax of the title track.

Don't get me wrong, this is awesome, but it doesn't have the massiveness of their previous albums

I'd disagree, but whatevs. This is one of my favorite albums of all time, so I'm gonna be pretty biased.

I gave this album another listen. I still think it lacks in intensity compared to previous albums. It makes up for that in other departments though

imagine all the boss parts of this (accessibility, guitar tone, better vocals, drums, not a single moment wasted, the fact that they've really found their own sound here {all are opinions}) combined with the epicness of Wake/Lift and the intensity of TGS

I would find a way to hack Sputnik and rate that album a 6/5.

Seriously, anybody who hasn't seen these guys yet needs to. I always say this, but goddamn their live show is incredible.

You keep telling me how great this album is when I already know. All I stated was the fact that they shed some of their intensity to do other things.

I'm not arguing any point there, I'm just stating how awesome it would be if their next album combined all the best parts of each of their 3 albums.
