To be fair when I first heard it I was like meh 2.5 and then a few months later all of a sudden it hit me and I was like woah. Not even sure how that happened.

The tracklist just kind off ruins it, towards the end it gets very tedious. A couple months ago I spent an hour making the perfect HC tracklist and accidentally hit shuffle or something and lost the ordering, I'm still pissed bout that.

Yeah fair enough. I do understand how this would sound meh because I used to think it did. Although people giving it 1's can gtfo.

1 is for shit like Etienne Sin, I can at least reckon the skill here.
It's just badly used.

Counterparts- Prophets is the other random metalcore album that hit home months later.

Not much albums did that for me, most of them blew me away from the first listen (except for Jane Doe and Calculating).
Had elil at 4.5 for long time but bumped it up to a 5 today. First song kept me from doing that but.. Dunno I just wanted to 5 it.

Nah I didn't give in, this is still way better than 85% of metalcore
|

I'd give you 60% of TODAY'S metalcore, no more.
If you deny you just don't dig deep enough.
|
| |
60% still seems way to much to me

Metalcore is dead to me now other than Converge, Btbam, ETID, Architects are still relevant/have a chance, that's bout all I can think of atm.

For modern metalcore?
Well Brotherhood Of The lake delivered a damn fine album, just a few moths ago.

Nah I dig pretty deep, and all the good new metalcore(by new I mean bands that have started in the last 3 years, just to clariy) are more of a mathcore style or are doing the djent hint with groove and shittons of syncopation and stuff like that.
