I never really bothered to check this out, was judging a book by its cover, so basically I judged it by its name and album art until I noticed its the same singer from Mars. Really digging it right now, its like a heavier angrier Mars

The Mars Volta is great, they're definitely fantastic musicians, I mean it's the same Cedric and Omar as At the Drive-in. But they got too cocky, they let themselves experiment a lot and while it shows a lot of artistic growth, they've never sounded as passionate or as tight as they do on this album. Not to mention their influence on the past decade of hardcore music is pretty much undeniable.

Really fucking good.
Who would've thought that the singer on this is reaching notes in the sixth octave some albums later.. Not to say that his performance here isn't great.
