Because Amnesiac is amazing

Amnesiac is probably the most misunderstood Radiohead album, yet it offers the best flow, diversity, and experimentation
And my favorite and 3rd favorite Radiohead songs ever are both on there

The sidechain compression of thaf static pad thing in climbing up the walls is so fucking good
|
| |
feels a little underealized in places idk, its still amazing but there's def filler. And I've always thought Thom's vocals on that album are more flawed than usual, but that's just my opinion
climbing up walls one of the musical greats

Like Amnesiac isn't even going for the same thing as Kid A, but everyone assumes it is just because the songs came from the same sessions.
It's also nice to see a bad really deviate from it's formula, something OK Computer only did a tiny bit, while Amnesiac and Kid A did it a lot

I don't think it's underrealized as much as it's subtle and hypnotic, unlike Kid A which is more often exciting and tense
|
| |
its not kid a that's for sure

I don't want it to be Kid A, it gives me something I want more than anything Kid A gives me

@noler but it sure tries to be

I get really passionate about Amnesiac honestly, something I can't say about any other Radiohead album except MAYBE In Rainbows
|
| |
yet you have this at a 4.5 .....

"@noler but it sure tries to be"
It really doesn't, if anything it tries to be the opposite mood wise while retaining a similar, if not higher level of experimentation and a hypnotic forgetful mood and some jazz thrown in
|
| |
I guess not underrealized more like pointless, and that's only certain songs like hunting bears and morning bell and push pull. I really do love most of it. knives pyramid and glasshouse are all unstoppable forces

"yet you have this at a 4.5 ..... "
4.5 isn't a 5, what's your point?
|
| |
My point is that why would you ever have an album you aren't really passionate about at a 4.5?

"and that's only certain songs like hunting bears and morning bell and push pull."
Okay, Pulk is probably my least favorite on there, but I still enjoy it, Morning Bell/Amnesiac is actually amazing, and Hunting Bears is simplistic but it comes at the perfect moment mood wise
I'd take all 3 over Treefingers and Motion Picture Soundtrack honestly

"an album you aren't really passionate about at a 4.5?"
Because I think it's fantastic, but I won't go on a long rant about how perfect it is because it's not a 5 to me?
ALA, you're playing with semantics.
|
| |
okay treefingers duh (even though its got an astronomical vibe) but motion picture? cmon, that would almost fit well on amnesiac lol

Motion Picture Soundtrack makes me feel nothing, I don't get the acclaim for i honestly

Especially after absolute monsters like Idioteque and Kid A's Morning Bell
