What are you going to learn from Anime? Other than how to talk like a cartoon character. Being able to watch anime should come naturally from learning Japanese, but I wouldn't learn directly from it, unless it was some slice-of-life anime with 100% normal speech.

"Long time Tool fan here: Tempest is crap, second worst song on the album after the farse that is Culling Voices (theneedledrop's favorite lmao). Only people who are into technical wankery like Dream Theater and Jazz music praise Tempest, in which Maynard sounds like a 70 years old retired rock n' roll musician, and ya, the lyrics are cringe in a neo-liberal Biden voter sort of way.
Rest of the album is next-gen and flawless. 4/5"

This is about as reductive as saying that watching crime dramas is only good for learning to sound like a detective or that watching the news makes you sound like a journalist - possibly true in the long run if that's your main point of exposure but 1) there's a huge difference between reinforcing applied grammar patterns/extracting vocab, and taking on manners of speech wholesale 2) it's usually pretty easy for me to identify expressions or individual words in a workplace context having isolated them through their use in anime, and 3) it doesn't take a huge pinch of salt to not want to talk like an overexcited schoolgirl
