Hahah
If I went to England I'd be right out in the countryside man

i spent my childhood in the english countryside and unless you really hate people and really fucking love hills and casual bigotry, i wouldn't recommend it.
london can be amazing unless you're earning minimum wage, 'cos then it'll eat you alive.

Album would be better if it didn't worship 90s alt rock so much. :/

I live in the English countryiside near a normal sized town, close enough to London that I can get the train in when I want. It's cool

"Album would be better if it didn't worship 90s alt rock so much. :/"
Music has to be inspired from somewhere which branches off somewhere or else we wouldn't have diversity. If you hated this
for "worshiping 90's rock then hate 90's rock for worshipping off Beethoven. Crazy thought I know but he inspired something
else that inspired something else that inspired something else. Music is a family tree that all came from somewhere that
someone else elaborated or specialized on. Don't hate on this for 90's alt. sure it's inspired but knocking on this for that would
be the equivalent of knocking on BTBAM for Pink Floyd which did the same and damn BTBAM is an incredible band. Nothing
wrong for inspiration, dude.
What's bad is plagiarism; which neither have done. It's not a matter of time as opposed to execution. Eventually, many years
from now someone will have covered everything. So what, is it that bands fault for "copying" what's done or just elaborating
on what a band has done? Brand New took an already awesome genre and added their own touches to it.

Though I don't think this album sounds all that quintessentially 90s, Cyg's complaint is valid. This coming out in 2006, would be enough time for the music to have evolved into something else. In my opinion, this did, but if it were stuck in a 90s sound, it would be because the band wanted it to be, not because they had to stem from somewhere else. I understand your point, but I don't think it's applicable.
But at the same I disagree with Cyg too, so whatever.

They ripped off brushed dude. There's nothing more to it and this stinks to high heaven of emotional turmoil through imagery not the 'real deal' and using music as the creative outlet.

I can certainly hear some Nirvana for sure. Especially in "Sowing Season" but I see no problem. Love both bands. Brand New just took that sound and excelled.

Shut up, ins, discussing influences is not terrible.

Are you saying using music as a creative outlet is negative or am I just misreading fuck out of your comment, Zak?
Edit: yep, misreading motherfucker here. But your comment is awkwardly worded.

Ripped off? Lol. Are you kidding me? You're hating on one of the best (if not the best) album ever. Some people are not grateful of the things they have. Take them for granted. This album is a gem. Possibly the best album ever written and you wanna call it a "rip off" which is equivalent to "mediocre"?

Sorry death dude, that was to Brushed. In answer to your question no way I meant it totally as a positive, music is all about a tool to channel the issue.

Fromtheinside was right after all. That took a quick dive. Trebor saved it though. This album definitely could have benefited from some industrial hip hop influences.
