Well you re almost making me spin the debut again....its going to be a nice car jam, but that debut breathes Radiohead from all pores man...Its not because its an UK thing.
|

I could list umpteen UK alt bands that take distinct Radiohead influence as overtly as Radiohead, but that would be cheating bc you haven't listed any of the other influences behind that record (some of which are more significant than Radiohead and all of which are uncamoflaged)

I ll hit you back when I find the track that starts exactly the same.
|
| |
There are some Radiohead-esque chord progressions there for sure + vocal similarities, but focusing on that is tapping into a pretty unrepresentative fraction of what's going on on that album, and I'm kinda surprised you don't pin the rest on obvious influences since you said it was an imitation act

One those albums you keep thinking of other bands, Tool is obvious, muse also maybe. You guys just take it too hard, while I think its a cool thing. I guess jhonny was summoned alright and the fight is on lmao. I ll do some homework and hit you back.
That said Oceansize is never going to be over Tool. In terms of identity Frames is thr only classic worthy.

For the record, when I said redundant on prev page, considering sputuser Pangea, is that its Tool, with Tool riffs being Tool, like Pangea, with the pictre of Pangea and with Pangea writen. Both cool.

don't worry DDD i got that
just finished my first listen. it's good but quite inconsistent for me. the t/t and legion inoculant were pretty awesome but i didn't care for pneuma or the interlude tracks

Inlike them but you can cut them off.

Here's to Pangea becoming pneuma. Takes some time to groove into that ~23/9 rhythm.

This is the only place in the world I swear where people get wet about the band Oceansize. The rest of the internet treats them fairly like they're a slightly more progressive dredg or Karnivool, other bands no one in the real world cares about lol.
You can't compare S level bands with B level bands.
S - Tool, Genesis, Led Zeppelin, Converge, etc.
A - The Beatles, Current 93, Massive Attack, etc.
B - irrelevant stuff that kind of sounds good on the background, Oceansize in this case

@Johnny
Kyary is A tier quality wise. But the difference of quality after listening to her after a stale Oceansize album scales her higher among the greatest to a S tier.
