Trivium Should Be Wearing Metallica T-Shirts. Well, it's either Metallica or Iron Maiden they were. They will probably also wear some Exodus or Megadeth, considering those two are commercially gigants of metal.
I'm starting to like "This World Can't Tear us Apart" more and more. I mean, the chorus is cheesy as anything but it works. Sadly the solo F*cks everything up again.

Im sure alot of these people jumped on the wagon to bash trivium without hearing them enough. Ascendacy was nowhere as bad as people make it out to be. Crusade is still decent, yet people flame them with the Metallica card. It seems everyone on here is either a fanboy or hates them completely. I've heard this album and I won't lie, it was pretty bad. But it's not bad enough to dedicate myself to posting vehemently about why I dislike it. It's ridiculous.

I fail to see why this Trivium hating band-wagon is so rabid. Its almost humorous to watch so many people squirm over this band. I hope they continue to make more albums, for I enjoy them and also i love to see you so called true metal heads foam at the mouth. Pathetic really.

This is a really good review. I agree with all of your points.
Couple stories to illustrate Trivium's said lack of originality.
--I read this on a forum somewhere online...this guy was talking about how he was listening to The Crusade in the car, and his dad was like "Wow, what Metallica song is this? I don't think I've heard it." And he was serious...
--The breakdown in "Becoming The Dragon" is an exact rip-off of the breakdown in "I'll Go Until My Heart Stops" by 36 Crazyfists.
