i like Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk little more, but you can't go wrong with either of them so yeah chem them both mate
|
| |
This is definitely their best for me. Classic bm
|
| |
With this majestic release, Emperor set the standards for symphonic black metal, and they set it so high that no other band has even gotten close. Unmatched riffs, melodies, emotion, vocals, and atmosphere.
A genuine masterpiece and one of the greatest achievements in metal.
A must own.

Ok.

The opener blew me away the first time I heard this
|
| |
No matter how much I enjoy this, the album's production still remains laughably bad to me. I know black metal isn't about having a high production value whatsoever, but cmon...
|
| |
Theres plenty of bm albums with worse production than this.
|
| |
The production is actually great for black metal standards, try some Paysage d'Hiver, that is bad production.

This has great production compared to the early Enslaved and Ulver stuff. Tbh i'd reccomend this as a
starting point for people trying to get into classic bm due to the production.
|
| |
I found Ulver's first album to have way better production than this. I just get incredibly annoyed by how the symphonics overpower the guitars at parts.
