I'm unsure of its accuracy due to not knowing much beyond the big hits, please point to me the Imagine Dragons songs with screaming, heavy chugs, breakdowns? i was pretty lukewarm on the last album but I heard no ID from the songs I heard in it at all unless the interpretation is "anthemic hooks = ID"

First album was fairly acceptable, Thunder is one of the worst songs I've ever heard, Whatever It Takes is passable radio fodder as is Believer, I don't know shit beyond that

i think it's really funny that a band as bland and inoffensive as imagine dragons inspires such ire, like apart from Thunder, I would class them as passable background music that if it was on, I wouldn't really have much to actually say, maybe I'll grow to hate them after the discog run but idk

i think its because they became massively successful as a result of an extreme amount of mainstream push and commercialism forcing them into the public consciousness despite the actual core fanbase of ID being disproportionately smaller than their actual fame.

Sharks, Wrecked and Eyes Closed are decent, the other singles I know of don't sound hateable (save Thunder and Believer).

eh tbf not sure that's the band's fault but i can def see that. they really sound not much different than like, later portugal the man but they aren't as widely disdained as ID because they weren't nearly as overpushed. the mainstream push is unwarranted, but on their own terms they're comfortably acceptable radio fodder that if they were just another band would likely just be "meh. whatever."

night visions is pretty fun. the rest is music to be played in commercials that will either annoy you or put you to sleep.

this album vs night visions is kind of a tossup

eden, tomb, and sundowning all ahead for me still (ID have no songs I know like The Summoning, Hypnosis, or The Offering)

"Talk" was one of my early favorite songs growing up and i attribute that to it being on nearly every mix cd i made for when i used to go out boating w the family
