ngl your representation of the impressionable indiscriminate idiot archetype that bands like this hit neverending min effort paydays over is about as public as we need for this discussion

As this thread is lost and completely off the rails: I wasn't there when the As I Lay Dying shenanigans took place. What's Sputnik's take on big-titted Lambesis?

Steroid boy lost his "redemption" plot when half the band revealed that he still hasn't changed so yeah.

Literally everybody had the same take on AILD dude which was wow horrific also lol
If you’re looking to stir some more controversy to keep this thread bumping at least ask how Sput responded to the Michael Gira allegations
|

Did those surface recently? Thought it was more of a long-running open secret a la Keidis, Wentz etc

"how Sput responded to the Michael Gira allegations" ?
|
| |
tfw a band indulges such self-serious creepy mystique that half its fanbase would probably be secretly disappointed if they didn't ever face some kind of allegations
read in Kim Gordon's autobio that on their first tour with Swans, Thurston Moore actively told his sister not to come to any show because the crowd atmos was so tox

If you give a misogynistic predator an art project, he’ll want some nihilism. If you give him nihilism, he’ll develop an alcoholic dependency to blame any predatory behavior on.

Another Pitchfork wannabe. Why do we let the guy who doesn't like metal review metal? Why is this considered the real review on Wikipedia?

I'm not seeing Sput in the critical reception tab on Wiki, I'm confused Jake
Also Johnny I feel like your moral crusade about lyrical content would be better served on bands like Memphis May Fire etc. whose vocalists are confirmed terrible people. but tbf, they haven't been relevant in ages.

"If we're opening the Pandora's box of Tasteless Political Implications anyone wanna talk about how the "r&b metal" guy keeps painting his face and body black for music vids and live shows"
Damn, these guys sing about squirting and do blackface. I'm severely missing out on this band

okay so I looked into it and apparently it's intended to completely obscure the singer's identity for artistic reasons??? I mean that's a bizarre way of doing it. it makes me think more of Ghost's whole anonymity shtick. I'm not sure why they don't just use capes like Papa Emeritus.

i'm listening to the first Crazy Town album and... I'm wondering if anyone here has heard that. It's so bad. Like, genuinely BOTDF levels of essential listening to know just how terrible music can get.
|

Crazy Town lame but I like that one track they did with Paul Oakenfold
