We would like to respectfully decline Rodgers, please and thank you. Drama queen and clearly at the end of the career. Would rather ride the Tannetrain until he's ready to hang it up.
Can't say I care much about soccer, just doesn't excite me. It's like, worse hockey.

Yeah I meant like in an ideal state of Rodgers, not as he currently is. He’s a grumpy old man now.
Conversely, I’m the only person in my family who follows football. Soccer is life to the rest of ‘em.

I grew up playing soccer, and even though I love playing it, I can't say I particularly enjoy watching. I just never really perceive the intricacies I suppose, and the flopping is actually horrendous lol
And even then, Rodgers is kind of a twat, and I like having a team to root for that is essentially twat-free.

Seeing the Packers lose warms the hearts of roughly 31/32 NFL teams.

Personally I’d be a fan of an 18 game (20 week) regular season with 2 static bye weeks at Week 7 and week 14 to put all teams on the same bye week for fairness purposes. Trimester bye weeks would be perfect honestly.
I’d also be a fan of two more expansion teams, 60-man rosters, relegation of two worst teams to dissuade against tanking, and shuffling of divisions every year

Expansion, relegation, etc. are all wonderful ideas in theory, but in practice, I'm not confident in the final product. The NFL has bad teams while fielding the top players of the nation. We've seen the talent drop from there to the XFL and other minor leagues; expansion likely diminishes overall game quality, which is already not a guarantee.
Trying to dissuade teams from tanking is just something I don't think can realistically be done, as you'd have to prove a team is beyond all doubt and create rules for any and all possible loopholes.

Yeah I just don't think it would work well for the NFL. Plus, compared to other sports, there's a pretty solid path to building a contender that helps assure parity for the most part.

Plus, if something more scrappy and less polished is what you're in the market for, college football is always there for ya. Plenty of stunning games to find there, even if the talent is always at an NFL level.

@Purp that sucks about McDaniels. I hope there’s a loophole on that guarantee somewhere…
@Mars To answer your comment from last page. I grew up playing soccer too, but when your family isn’t American it’s just how it is. My uncle had LA Galaxy season tickets… who does that? Fucking no one.
@Everyone I agree with an eighteen game season with two byes but i don’t know how the expanded rosters and relegation would be feasible, as noted by Purp and Mars

Zach Wilson benched. That was fast.

Just surprised at how swift it was. 20 starts and already the locker room is lost, players dislike him, his coach is upset with him and benched him, and he's the #1 target of the media. Wow.

He’d be still playing if he took any sort of accountability for his poor play, especially with an elite defense doing anything they can to make games winnable.

Caught the highlights. That game must have been fun to watch in real time after watching the Cowboys trounce the Giants.
