Definitely a lot of experimentation, but still very much Converge... i like it. Reminds me of some of the later stuff on Axe to Fall

No way this is completely awful with no redeeming qualities though

Yeah no shot when you have songs like Lord of Liars and Crimson Stone. Band is literally in peak form here my guy

There are some cheesy moments on here that make me appreciate it less than I could have, but it's a solid record

There's a decent bit of variety here. I understand not liking all of it, or even half of it... but thinking it has no redeeming qualities whatsoever is rather weird

Excluding Halo, this is lowest form Converge for me. I can tolerate maybe two or three tracks at best, so I guess I'm with Storm on this one lol

This is basically ‘verge going “we’re not just hardcore! We can do doom too!” And then proceed to write a very average doom album in attempt to prove it

I like this. I like when the band I like decides to step outside of their lane and experiment with their sound (and yes, I DO like "that" Celtic Frost album).

cool guy that’s a bad take considering half the album would not even be considered doom and they’ve already made slower sludgier tracks on literally every album they’re ever done.

Xing you’re still cool as fuck and I’m sorry you don’t enjoy this album

I have yet to see stormy give any real criticisms in converge threads lol

I haven’t really returned to this since it dropped, maybe I should soon?

Just as good as the first day I heard it

Scorpion Sting is the only real weak link imo, and that’s really just because it feels like Chelsea wrote that song completely on her own.

I remember getting more cave in vibes from this than converge because of brodsky in the mix, that and the title track being incredible

It took the title track for me to finally “get it” with the vocals and the raw ass production

Yeah storm I doubt the public opinion on Jane is gonna change much from here. It’s been out for 20 years.
