I'm not even bothering with the new renditions tbh lol, these guys are being annoying with releases

The ST one is really simplistic, but I dig it. Didn't care for the teenage wrist one at all

@bloc I think the massive bass does wonders for this genre. They caught lightning in a bottle on Drown

I also highly recommend Don Broco- One True Prince. I’m not really a fan of them, but man they got that same massive sound with this track. It’s phenomenal

BTW this album is still a borderline masterpiece for me, even with an absurd amount of plays on my part. Part of me thinks they won’t top this

I dont even need them to top this, I just need them to make something as equally awesome as this. Give me another song thats as euphoric as A Sad Cartoon and I'm good.

Each individual influence and component of it is somewhat derivative, and it's definitely very Deftones-ish. But as a full album play though, it really just rubs me in all the right ways. I like it more than I like to like it.

I think also my high rating is based on the fact that their earlier work was utter shite and this is like a 12,000% improvement on it

They basically are a wonderful substitute of some sort for the itch that Black Peaks left behind for me, after they disbanded. That's why i really don't want them to disappoint on the next record. Even though their music is quite different, both have a Deftones quality to them, Loathe of course much stronger, while BP is much more Mastodon influenced (especially Leviathan til CTS era Mastodon).

So just in case anybody in this thread doesn't know them, please do check them out

Yeah about one year ago i think. Just when i find a great new band, they disband maybe 2-3 years later at the latest. Same with Arcane Roots. At very least i saw both bands multiple times

Weiner- yeah you're right, TCS is not all that bad, just doesn't quite move me like this album. It's acceptable background noise.

I'm not sure if I've even listened to TTTB yet, but if I have I have probably forgotten it from the sounds of it.

Ocean- what's the best Black Peaks album to check out?

@maff i would recommend Statues, since it has A tier production, especially for a debut. Also, the songwriting is fantastic
