'the lyrics are fucking cringe and the dude reeks of narcissism'
he's sorta the Ricky Gervais of indie, I mean all that is intentional

Gervais created a character/show that was supposed to be cringe in the original Ofifice that's regarded one of the best comedies of the last few decades. Some people didn't like the style or hated the 'cringe element' - fair enough.
FJM has created a character/performance that's similar in its intentions so the argument 'Intentional or not, it still is' is a neutral statement. It's meant to be slightly annoying but you either get on board or you don't. But it being cringe can't be an actual criticism as the project would have failed if it wasn't :/

You aren't supposed to want to be, or be best mates with, FJM - just as you wouldn't want to be or work for David Brent. Why is this concept so tough to acknowledge?
You're allowed not to enjoy it of course but you should at least appreciate what's going on here.

"bad lyric folk is not provocative lol, could not be less so really"
Haha I mean his opening lyrics to Total Life Forever, second track on the album, is:
"Bedding Taylor Swift
Every night inside the Oculus Rift
After mister and the missus finish dinner and the dishes"
If describing an average Joe having VR sex with a current pop star after doing the dishes isn't provocative then I don't know what is. If Dana Carvey did a sketch of this in the 90's it'd probably be too provocative to be aired on tv.

I think this album is pretty well written I dunno.
The music presented here divorced of the vocals would sound agreeable to me too.

I'm with you doof. I can respect disliking it but saying it's poorly written is laughable; it may not be your cup of tea but it has structure, substance and themes throughout.

I'm usually on your side with a lot of shit chuck, page breaking nonsense isn't really a rational discussion and doesn't help your case

Haha I don't like picaso but I don't think he shit paintings out of his ass and didn't put any thought and creativity into his work. Disliking =/= poorly done. You can create the most complicated piece of music in the world and it can be terrible, both ideas don't have to be mutually exclusive.
