I really love how much tyler is embracing the multi instrumentalist tag, and his skills on a bass guitar have improved exponentially since this album

trench leaked, 256 kbps

trench is fine. singles are hella misleading i thought they were gonna like, do something with their sound didnt expect just another twenty one pilots album

huh, I thought this was a pretty good deviation in sound for them, specifically in lyrics. It all seems more chill in atmosphere with a depressing undertone, and the lyrics are pretty exposed here

i should prob listen to it more but while most of it was solid it was like, kinda not as dark or atmospheric as i wanted it to be based on how jumsuit and levitate implied. it just sounded like more top to me
still a lot better than this

true
also, I think Neon Gravestones is one of my favorites from them, it seems to take that intended moody, depressing feel

that's the best not single on it yea

it deals with some pretty real stuff
I’d also put Pet Cheetah up there as one of the best from here

yea that one was cool too. cut my lip kinda sucks

not the best, but I kinda dig the instrumentals from it
but the best for me in terms of instrumentals (specifically drumming) is either Smithereens or Leave the City from the non singles

The first half of Trench is pretty great but it hits a rough patch around track 9 and never fully recovers from there.

but Pet Cheetah tho

I'm not really feeling Pet Cheetah tbh. The breakdown at the end is cool and Tyler has some solid bars, but that Jason Statham line is weird and bad, and the whole thing just comes off as kind of sloppy conceptually.

fair enough
Neon Gravestones is honestly probably one of my new favorites from the band overall
|
| |
Yeah that song is legitimately amazing, easily the best thing they've done post-Vessel
