If I’m honest I don’t spin any RtJ a lot at the moment, not sure RtJ4 is something I really need

Whether you like an artist or not, that's always a lazy as fuck and elitist bullshit criticism.

"If you like this artist, you aren't a reeeeeaaaaallll fan of the genre."

Shut the fuck up, honestly.

Surely if RTJ is made for hip hop casuals, then most of their fans are casuals and don't have a deep appreciation of the genre? Is that not sort of totally implied?

just because rtj makes generic sounding music purposefully to appeal to a wider audience does not mean fans of the genre wont necessarily enjoy the music thats not what i said

are you guys reading at a fourth grade level or what

By saying an artist makes shallow music with wide appeal, it is implied that other artists in the same genre make deeper music with narrower appeal, whose work will be held in higher regard by genre enthusiasts. Genre enthusiasts would be as close to what deathschool meant by "reeeeaaaaalllll fans." You did not say "only casuals like RTJ" explicitly, but it felt implied to me. If you genuinely did not mean to suggest that, then sure, cool, whatever

Yes, heavily implied. I also listen to Kanye, Madvillian, Nas, Vince Staples, Eminem and this so, if that makes me simple, hallelujah to me.

Anyway, if these guys would just make Zac De La Rocha their third member, it would obviously bring out their masterpiece in waiting.
