Yeah I've been waiting for that ever since this came out, also Qeres would be nice too

Crossing my fingers for this being No. 1 on the users list. Though I fear Swans might take that spot.

That Swans record doesn't even come close to this. To Be Kind was just The Seer lite - same general idea, just lacking any kick.

I thought you liked To Be Kind

I gave it like a 3.6 cuz obviously it's good...I can't be so subjective as to ignore the fact that it is expertly done. But giving Swans a 3.6 would be like rating a Brand New album a 3.6 - it's like saying yeah I know who this band is and I know they're incapable of sucking, but this is as close as they'll come to it.

idk I thought TBK had more ideas in its runtime than the Seer :S

I can see more ideas. In fact, I agree with that notion. It's definitely more diverse and in that way better, perhaps.
The Seer was just a beast on an album though. When I listen to that album I get feverish chills and can picture a biblical apocalypse as if it's happening right before my very eyes. It's a downright frightening experience.
By comparison, To Be Kind is just kind of there.

have you checked out some of Swans' back catalogue Sowing? they've got some pretty haunting material

I've only really listened to their new era stuff (from TBK to My Father) and Soundtracks for the Blind. The rest of their discog got a one time listen and I don't even think I rated most of it. But it's something I plan on dedicating more time to if and when things get slow with new releases this year.

TBK is completely different to Seer in atmosphere and vibe though, comparing them in that TBK doesn't accomplish what Seer did is BS tbh

How is it BS to say that TBK doesn't accomplish what The Seer did? The Seer crafted this ridiculously haunting atmosphere. I imagine it's what Hell sounds like.
To Be Kind simply didn't make an impact on me outside of it being well-constructed musically and interesting in spurts.

I DON'T LIVE HERE NO MORE
SHE DON'T LIVE HERE NO MORE
WE DON'T LIVE HERE NO MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

cuz it doesn't try to reproduce Seer in any way, TBK is a record where love and animalistic furry meet and dance where Seer is an actual glimpse at a void or at least that's how I feel their distinction

"animalistic furry"

I see what you're saying but in the same token I could argue that the seer accomplishes what it tries to do much better than TBK accomplishes what it sets out to do.

Going in a different direction doesn't automatically equal success

"I see what you're saying but in the same token I could argue that the seer accomplishes what it tries
to do much better than TBK accomplishes what it sets out to do. "
that works yeah, it was undermining TBK because it didn't reproduce Seer's atmosphere that bothered
me; still dig TBK a lot (a lot more fun to jam) but'll take Seer over TBK any day
