"But how do you get the kids with scene hair to listen to mutant prog? Just make all the tracks hover around the five-minute mark. Cautious? Of course. But the nine-minute "A Golden Dawn" proves why this works-- it's by far the poorest song on The Moon. It fails to shimmer and ends up sounding like an outtake from a Trail of Dead practice".

They must be drunk or do not understand anything of music, A Golden Dawn is so central to the album, maybe my fav

Agreed dude. There isn't a single song on here that's directionless or not integral to the album.

TBH the drumming on here isn't all that impressive. I mean it's good and super fun to listen to, but the majority of it is pretty much just really fast rudimentary stuff.

Was gonna say, the drumming here is a good listen but technically speaking (and I'm a pretty mediocre drummer) it isn't too complex

I've been drumming for almost eight years now, and yeah, speaking from a purely technical standpoint, this isn't anything too special. Goddamn is it fun to play though haha, I've been working on Electric Surge recently.

I know, I was just a little confused by everybody saying that the drummer on here makes guys like Billy Rhymer look like an amateur

as a drummer too, its nothing ridiculous, but the dude definitely has chops. more importantly tho, all the parts he writes are absolutely killer, perfect balance between tasteful and flashy without goin overboard

Exactly. The way he accents is amazing. I could give two shits about technical ability

I don't think they were going for tech, just an awesome sound

I get what you were getting at though Crave, I got the impression from the review/comments that the technicality of the drumming was what being so lauded. I agree that it's really more the parts he wrote that impressive, Clim
