this is probably my 2nd favorite as well (unless reanimation counts), that or meteora which is more consistently pretty good where the high points on here blow it out of the water but the low points are pretty bad

yeah for a long time I've had Reanimation 2nd, but it's just too damn bloated. Tons of great material on there and still prob my fave pre-this LP full-length (Hybrid Theory EP may beat it out), but this is way more consistent

starting to like the lower points more as well, although i still dont like bleed it out and in between at all

I love In Between. There's boring and there's effectively simple, and I think it's the latter
Bleed It Out is prob my least fave on this as well, it feels like a sketch of a song and it's placed so awkwardly between the two first-half ballads. Great raps by Mike though and I've always loved Brad's riff on it

Only song I don't like on this anymore is Hands Held High, I totally agree that it would have been better if Mike worked on it as a Fort Minor song. No Roads Left would have made for a far better substitute, not to mention being on of Mike's best vocal performances

hands held high is a low point as well, mostly because i think there's some wasted potential there. if it build to something it would've probably be among the highlights on here

HHH def feels like it could've been a Fort Minor track but his lyrics on there are some of his best ever imo. A little direct and unsubtle, sure, but that was just the mood of the mid-to-late Bush era. I can get why people don't like it or if it may feel dated, but it totally transports me back to that time. Instrumentation on it is touching as well.

i remember i used to love leave out all the rest. it's grown off so hard, but the chorus is pretty nice. i've always liked shadow of the day more than most only because of the u2 guitar flares at the end that i loved. the rest of the song is alright but it's completely made by the guitars at the end

I always liked Hands Held High tbh. And yeah, Shadow of the Day rules.

it still stuns me that a band like LP came up with a song as spectacular as Little Things

Album Rating: 3.5
honestly if this thing's first half were re-arranged to something like
Wake/Given Up -> What I've Done -> No Roads Left -> LOATR -> Shadow of the Day
I might toy with the thought of generously 4ing this
the flow on the actual album is the weakest part about this, and as people mentioned, nothin' against Bleed It Out but it doesn't feel like a fully formed song

"spectacular" might be a bit of an exaggeration imo but I do really like Little Things. Probably the best one here.
And yeah, I'd say the flow is the weakest aspect of the album. No real cohesion. It's a mish-mash of styles that are mostly done well but don't fit together

A rearranged tracklist without bleed it out and in between id get behind with. I haven't heard any of the bonus tracks but ill give them a spin and create my own version of the album

I think the only two bonus tracks from this era are No Roads Left and Across the Line, the latter of which didn't actually come out until 2009 iirc and sounds more fit for Meteora tbh
but ye No Roads Left is just as good as anything on MTM, it's a shame they kept it off

Across the Line sounds like a 30 Seconds to Mars song but idk if I mean that in a good or bad way

Across the Line and No Roads Left would be the two best songs on the album

Across the Line really isn't anything all that special imo
