for real. i don't mind any plotline in and of themselves (except maybe the lab one), but the mix of tones is off-putting at points. every plotline has a different blend of comedy and suspense (esp russia vs upside-down) and there is too much layered over too much too fast and it ends up an oversaturated blend of wow where did my investment go

like, season 3 was dumb popcorn fuel but at least it had a strong central focus

Stranger Cringe. Had to drop the show after a couple of episodes when it first aired. Also always uncomfortable to notice the weirdo fandoms that form around mediocre child actors

OH, that's easy, most Ween fans loathe Phish. it's just a small select few who got into them through Phish cuz of that shitty Roses Are Free cover that cuts out the coolest part of the song (seriously wtf Trey if you're gonna ruin a good song, ruin it right)

Both times I saw them, the venue was packed and the 2nd time a mosh pit opened up for the heavy songs they played. Neither set felt jam-band friendly at all

Ween's popularity with people under 35 is probably mainly due to the use of "Loop de Loop" and "Ocean Man" in SpongeBob, Ween's popularity with people over 35 probably comes with their association with rabbitholes of trying to find bands Primus and Flaming Lips (2 bands that sound nothing alike, but also both kinda sound like Ween)

Very few people at a Ween concert are hoping for Roses Are Free specifically or hoping they play mellow jammy Phish drivel type songs exclusively. I think the only people who even associate the 2 bands are those who prefer Phish

Phish has an 11-minute song called "David Bowie" where the only lyrics are "David Bowie, UB40" sung over and over and over, and it's a fan favorite, it's often even longer in concert

God I hate them
