Maybe a little since they're both blackgaze, but outside of that they're pretty different.

god i remember the first time i heard violet, i was this nerdy fucking kid (still am but yknow) at this godawful private school, and i was just going from listening to a bunch of generic and terrible metalcore and post-hardcore shit to like mogwai, godspeed, loma prieta, converge, and all that stuff and i had never heard anything related to black metal before in my life, until i went in this dark corner of the school where i would always go to get away and listen to music. i saw violet was recommended to me by youtube and the artwork intrigued me so i gave it a try, and it just completely blew my mind.

such a special song, and special album as a whole too

i saw them at a music fest outside and it started raining when they played unrequited and it was one of the most atmospherically perfect things ever

Okay, this is better than I remember. It's like a less dynamic Sunbather. I would suspect that I like it more nowadays because I'm such a big fan of Sunbather and it's fun to see how much these guys have progressed from here.

agreed, you can see the same ideas that made sunbather so great here, just delivered with less intensity/expertise

This rules almost as hard as Sunbather tbh.

if Bermuda is like Judah Pt 2 with a "darker" feel I'd be fine with it. This is less dynamic but it's just solid straightforward twinkle blasts m/

I honestly want more clean interludes and crescendos, but that's just me.
