Waking the Fallen is more just metal than metalcore I think. That said, I actually enjoy it.
|
| |
i hate to be "that guy" but it doesn't feel very metal to me

Yeah it's definitely metalcore. lol
|
| |
I agree Waking isn't exactly pure metalcore, sure there's breakdowns but its just got a balls-out attitude to it
|
| |
it's got a big metal influence that they'd expand on further with City but i just can't call it metal

It's just as much metal as it is metalcore. And it's just as much hard rock as it is metalcore. That's exactly the reason why it appealed so widely in the mainstream.

woo opinions

Second is the only one worth anything anyway.

Nightmare is shit, that's what nightmare is.
|
| |
new slayer is very core, i hate it
|
| |
Slayer haven't been good since Seasons. It's weird though I dislike a lot of thrash because It's monotonous and yet early Slayer is about as monotonous as it gets and yet I love it.
|
| |
yeah i only really like the first 3 or 4 slayers + the Haunting ep
|
| |
Haunting The Chapel sucked except Chemical Warfare. Show No Mercy sucked for me, apart from 1 or 2 songs, Hell Awaits was good and the atmosphere was incredible, Reign was the fastest slab of thrash out there, hated South Of Heaven, and Seasons was half-good.
|
| |
show no mercy is my favourite, but it's not really a thrash album
|
| |
Still dig Hell awaits.
|
| |
Show No Mercy is more NWOBHM and I didn't really like it much. I'm not one for much Slayer. Don't get me wrong I'm not anti-thrash or whatever, I listen to a lot of it, it's just not a lot of it really engages me. it's still great but there's few albums I would even consider giving a 4.5 or a 5 on here

Atrocious album. I will stick to Waking the Fallen for my Avenged Sevenfold needs.
|
| |
Did you hear the riffs?
|
| |
Its not that bad.
