that song is awesome

Yeah, the ending of that song is arguably BTBAM's best composition ever but the first few minutes of that song make me want to set fire to Tommy Rogers.

You don't like the Mr. Bungle-esque beginning of that song? It is total Mike Patton worship in the beginning.
|
| |
it could sound a bit cheesy to some listeners i guess

You should get down with Faith No More and Mr. Bungle....awesome bands. And if you want an awesome adventure, get California by Mr. Bungle.

those are a bit of an acquired taste in my opinion, not really for everyone.

Maybe so, but you know, if you opened up to it and listening to it more. You could grow an appreciation for it. I don't know, I think both bands are music staples, but that is my opinion.

Fossil Genera honestly doesn't get good until 4:26. That's four and a half minutes of sucking.
|
| |
i agree, they definitely have their ability to influence others. personally, neither of those bands are my sort of thing.
if anything, the 4:26 of sucking comes from Desert of Song.

Mordecai, could you give me the times of each of the 4 riffs you like on this record? It's always interesting to see what parts of BTBAM songs BTBAM skeptics tolerate. Favorite riff is at 6:12 of Swim to the Moon, despite it being major Opeth rip-offery.

k give me a sec

Disease has some tasty riffing, i must say. the jam in the middle rules.
|
| |
Blame the introduction of Fossil Genera.
Actually i blame the self-indulgence of swim to the moon, regardless of how enjoyable it is, its not really necessary.

The jam in the middle is one of my fave parts of the album. Its awesome without going over the top.

Disease: 6.35 (that whole jam section)
Fossil: Just after the 4 minute mark
Swim: 6.03 (acoustic leads, then the chug + awesome drums)
Swim: 9.39 - 11.00 (awesome bass not to flashy, but the guitar solo afterwards is lame and drawn out)
