Yeah dude you definitely should go to it. Best show I've seen all year.

I really don't want to go alone. I've done that before.

I don't think it's part of the Envy tour. I think it is just them two (LD and TA).

Did you end up going?
Yeah I was going to say that I believe the Envy tour ended two days ago. Twas sooo good.
I got to see that and letlive within 4 days of each other, that's going to make everything I see in the next month seem much shittier.

So, I wonder why I even comtemplated this in the beginning. It was essential that I go, and I did. There were two opening bands. One was called Play for Keeps (another band has it copyrighted so they have to lose it after the show). They are pretty good hardcore from Baytown, Tx. The other is called The Lion of Wall Street. Pretty good; the front man is weird.
Touche Amore was unbelievable. Their drummer gave me more respect for drummers of their genre. That dude plays so fast while hitting the drums so hard.
La Dispute was great, but they didn't play two of my favorite songs (Said the King to the River and Only Everything Below). Drummer is the man.
Each band played similar amounts of songs, probably about 6 or 7 each.
I haven't been to a show yet in which the bands (in this case, TA and LD) are on the ground instead of the stage, though I've seen them do it in videos. I'm not used to being bumped into by a guitarist or be literally 3 inches away from Jordan Dreyer while they are setting up.
I talked to Jordan and the singer from TA after the show and basically went all star struck about how I loved their shows. The dude from TA said they are having an LP some time in spring and will be back around then too. Going to that, obv.
There were only about 50 people there other than the bands. Pretty cool, actually.

These guys'd put on a good concert methinks.

It was nice. I normally don't get giddy, but I was.

Live, TA is better than recordings. LD was probably a little better live as well. It's funny to see such tiny, soft spoken people play such good music though.

They usually play Said the King to the River, but Last Lost Continent obviously takes up a good deal of time. I wish I had stuck around longer after the K-zoo show to talk.

By the way, your dig is fucking awesome.

LLC was their last song. I didn't have to stick around to talk to them either. A few people stayed where they were and just said something to them. I just waited and told Jordan I tried to see them in Austin and couldn't, but I found out about the show around 2pm today and had to go. He was all sweaty and cute.
But I walked outside to leave after that and the singer from TA was heading towards me so I stopped him to tell him I loved the show and asked about their next tour stop here and the LP and stuff. He's got a really soft voice and stuff, so when he's performing, it's like a whole other person.

Touche Amore are the nicest dudes. Jeremy's timid baby voice is so atypical for a hardcore vocalist.
|
| |
For real. After their first song, he said something into the mic, and I thought he was being goofy. He wasn't.

i love that they have found success with their music. they're like a supergroup made up of members from all my favorite bands/dudes in my local scene when i was in high school. i like seeing familiar friendly faces on stage.
