You know what this album needs? Or any Opeth album for that matter? Jonas Renske as a guest vocalist. This would have been the album for it though.

No!! The de-tuning in Burden is a very interesting twist to an otherwise very conventional song, I think it adds a certain jazz to it
maybe if it wasn't at the end of the song

Thats the best part about. Perfect ending!

You write and write and write, Mike, and yet I can't shake the feeling that you aren't actually hearing the albums you're reviewing. Maybe you should take some hits and chill and not worry about reviewing and rating every bit of music you get your hands on, because your reviews are really just kind of trite.

Simply 'Wowed' by this comment. I simply do not see the motivation in wasting your time talking about something you clearly did not read/ understand.

If by best you mean ridiculously boring and monotonous, then i agree.

A 1.5 burn? Really?

Ah well. Suit yourself.

I think Still Life beats this, but that's it.

Maybe it's because I never listen to albums repeatedly but I still love this. Odd for an Opeth album but still in my top 10.

Porcelain Heart is so boring! but the rest of the album makes up for it
there are hints of past albums that come into some of these songs, like the outro of Heir Apparent reminds me of BwP, but it cant really stand beside that album.
and i agree, it's a pretty odd album. their sound changes every album

Ok, a 1.5 is melodramatic. A 2 should suffice enough.

This is worth more then a 2 unless you are just spiting this album because you hate Opeth fanboys.

No it's a 2 because I dislike more than 80 percent of this album.

Autofail :D. And if you dislike 80% of this album, wouldn't you rate this a 1? 20% per single unit of rating?
