Album is as redundant as your avi+sputname, which does not make it any worse either.
Cool anouncement anyway, enjoy.

It's not redundant imo, but it's a very very slow burn for sure

this was very redundant for me. tool has never really been my cup of tea to begin but they were enjoyable from what material of theirs that i'd heard prior to this.
i barely liked this too, it was a slog to get through.

For anyone who’s a naysayer, but curious about how elements of Tool’s sound can be used to create something more satisfying... check Oceansize.

Yeah, Oceansize do Tool way better than Tool do themselves. Good rec.

Lol dead
Oceansize are so far out of the band + this thread's league that I feel awkward seeing them mentioned here

Oceansize is great but to say they're better than Tool is lol.

man, the variety in this thread.
aren't musical opinions wonderful?

Frames is a classic and infinitely more creative and colourful than any Tool aside from Aenima (which is still not in the same ballpark)
full list of bands they imitate on their first two albums plz DDD

Rock radiohead worship for a start. There s even a song that starts the same way. Frames is the best no doubts. I like them albuns for sure...they constantly reminded me of other altrock bands from that time, with a little proggier touch.

Not gonna lie the Oceansize thing was just me trying to summon Johnny and start a war... it is kind of true though.
|

I am a hexen commodity in a hexen thread
saying Oceansize worshipped Radiohead is like saying Tool worship Sabbath - obviously true but not that accurate to what either band are doing (excluding Adam Jones' neverending how-to-play Iommi riffs 101)

That analogy is still ridiculous no matter how many learning guitar youtubers you shoot (and I like comedy) - all metal riffs came from Sabbath.
Don t mess with my grumpiness today, Cavani won t be in Benfica.
|
| |
"all metal riffs came from Sabbath."
yes (~ish), hence citing Sabbath influence would be as much a moot point/redundancy as citing Radiohead influence for a UK band with an alternative skew
