Since Sabbath created doom I think you can't really say their music isn't "doom", I mean, they created it; the sound of other doom bands is just a variation of the genre's original sound

They influenced it for sure, but cannot be pigeonholed as doom.

Come to think of it, Sabbath is a hard band to pigeonhole.

one of the great things about bands of that time was their willingness to experiment with different sounds

there's plenty of doom on their earlier releases even if it's heavily tinted with hard rock/blues rock/psychedelic/whatever

the first track from this is 100% doom

You guys sorta got to my point to say BS is doom is greatly reducing what they did to a single errant word.

they do have what would become doom elements for sure, but they are so much more, even the songs that you could say have doom elements are something more than that, BS could be the best band ever, certainly the most diverse

those who don't think I know music, should take a look at my comments.

I have listened to it at least 50 times in my life, still think BS is doomier, side 2 has some doom, Lord, Into, but side one is not, also, the album needs a couple more songs, great album, but not my favorite

but like I said lets not stuff these guys into a genre, like all great bands they transcend many genres to the point that they are their own genre
