johnny it's not even about the trap beats and shit it's about the greater attention to dynamics. when there is no quiet, there can be no loud. genres like post-metal get it, they know how to properly build to the crushing heavy stuff so it hits harder.
at least with "radio rock", the good bands in that genre mind you, there's not a 50-minute blur of URRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR, although the song structures mostly all being the same does kinda get a bit tedious. when nickelback went 6/8 on that one song on Feed the Machine it felt refreshing. the biggest thing radio rock needs is more fiddling with time signatures and doing more unconventional structures.

idk if you're only capable of appreciating music and whatever else through contrasts i'm gonna chalk it up as a skill issue and a pretty sad one at that

Look for me, something like a constant strain of unending blast beats, indecipherable vocals and variations on like the same 3 "brutal" riffs just doesn't cut it for me. Constant "brutal" for a long period is boring. At least bands like Jesus Piece incorporate sludge influence to keep it fresh while not softening up.

I mean Travis utilizes like 4 different vocal styles on Terrasite and makes them all work. Dude is insanely talented no matter what anyone says. And yeah some may say Cattle lacks in the riff department (which they kind of do) but their chugs are tasteful, groovy and a ton of fun to listen to. Dave is an insane drummer too.
Also just read their lyrics lol their complete disdain for humanity is quite admirable

Honestly I think I'd respect them more if they weren't complete eco-fascists that try to dox kids over meaningless shit... and the Forced Gender Reassignment stuff is pretty tasteless, I get its trying to mock bigots but by using SRS as a torture method?

I mean maybe but it's what my leftist circles have described them as too so either they're misinformed or secretly right wing or something.

Did they really get him doxxed though? The kid posted blatant plagiarism of his own volition and the band just kinda trolled him by having Travis wear a shirt of his Instagram post ripping off the Death Atlas artwork in the Bring Back the Plague music vid. You speak about them like they tracked down the kid's real name/address

That's actually a tangible critique as opposed to speculative stuff. Travis actually did that.
Also Jay they were encouraging it and people were doxing the kid in the replies. And to be quite frank all he did was post the art like a day before the announcement. Who gives a fuck. Leaks happen all the time.

If we're opening the Pandora's box of Tasteless Political Implications anyone wanna talk about how the "r&b metal" guy keeps painting his face and body black for music vids and live shows

I prefer to go off of what's actually happened and is public not this pseudo intellectual speculation about "exploitative lyrics". If we're gonna talk about exploitative lyrics wheres the same shade at all the Christian bands that went on the covid denial train.
