the hottest... Like, guys, if I wanted Nokia Ringtone sounds on my songs, I still wouldn't pick the intro from Paschendale

Surprising how fresh this sounds over 20 years after release. No better comeback album that I can think of.
Edit: Hammer of the Witches was a really solid comeback too

The album that marked the return of Bruce Willis on vocals and Adriano Celentano on guitar, as well as the start of their long lasting collaboration with Batman himself.
Let's see how much of this I actually remember

Is...Hammer of the Witches a comeback album? I think of it as a return to form, for sure but...
To me it's this and then the next tier is like Surgical Steel / Black Gives Way to Blue. If Hammer is consensus a comeback album then fuck...it's probably in the tier with this.
Jesus fuck I love this album.

bgwtb is nowhere near as good as classic aic and was insanely overhyped upon release

I said Hammer of the Witches cos it was Dani with a completely new lineup. Felt like a comeback!
With AIC, Black Gives Way to Blue was an unexpectedly great comeback, better than anyone thought was possible I’d say. In saying that I think The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here is even better.

I suppose that's valid.
bgwtb I think was a great comeback album because nobody expected them to put something good out without Layne, that it wouldn't feel like AiC even with Jerry there.

dude Black Gives Way to Blue is like the 2nd best AiC behind Dirt
I mean Jar of Flies would be 2nd if it wasn't an EP
