"Kinda shocked how genuinely uplifting and inspiring Discarnate is. That's a special track right there"
i wanted it to feel empowering, i suppose. it deals with dark subject matter in a more anthemic template. it's an 'overcoming your demons' kind of song to me.
"Astral Mariner legit brought me close to tears"
perhaps my favourite piece and the most personal. thank you, it's incredible to see people emotionally resonating with it. it's perhaps the 'outlier' of the three songs but there was no other song i could complete this album with.

It made me feel like I could lift a mountain, so it definitely nailed the empowering aspect. And Astral Mariner absolutely was the perfect closer.
Take it from someone who doesn’t listen to BM by and large, this was an album that only comes once in a lifetime

ahaha you're telling me - it was so strange working on this for about 15 years and it finally being finished. i don't expect to ever top it and i'm at peace with the idea i don't need to. i created something i can always be proud of and many musicians go through their whole careers never making anything as personal and fulfilling as this so i'm counting my blessings.
i really appreciate you giving it a try and i'm thrilled it resonated with you - thank you so much!

i'm so excited to show you guys what i'm working on next - it's a pretty dramatic shift but as i've said before repeating myself after this would make no sense. trisagion was a book-end, end-of-an-era kind of record. i have this complex emotion for trisagion wherein i'm deeply proud of it but also i never want to go back to the mindset i was in creating it. for all the trauma in this album, immortalizing it gave me the means to heal.
i think as well seeing people resonate with it also proved to me i'm not alone in what i went through. seeing people empathise and identify with what i was going through gave me a lot of strength. not only that but the indescribable feeling of seeing how it helped others cope emotionally with their own journey is just... nuts. beyond words.
i've repeated myself about 50 times in this comment section but all i can say is thank you. thank you a million times over. i love each and every one of you.

y'know i come back to listening to this and realize there's a lot more i could have done with the ideas on this album
obviously i'll never redo it as i'm deeply proud of it as is but it makes me more excited for creating new music with broader scope and more ambitious writing
i'm *hoping* the new album will be ready by 2027? it's fully written at least. decided ultimately on 5 songs but i may split one of them into two parts, making 6. they vary between about 10 and 14 minutes each as per rehearsals and playthroughs but when it's taking shape things may change.
prepare for something different!
