I wouldn't even call the riffs cool. The ones on Double Helix are almost comically basic for what they're trying to go for.

"imagine taking ratings so seriously (on a washed up, super low use website that's coding looks like it was last updated in 2006 no less) that you get offended by other people's opinions of the music you listen to"
oh the irony of the first part

Holy shit this might be my favourite BtBaM disc since the great misdirect. I very love the "borderline disorder / post-modern anxiety" concept too, and I never cared about BtBaM lyricism at all.

"i really don't get the comments that call this "mindblowing" because it's just a bunch of fun sections, mediocre ideas, and cool riffs glued together. nothing here is particularly impressive even if it is enjoyable"
Well, dunno what to say aside from the fact that I basically feel the exact opposite of what you describe here. Couldn't have asked for a better BTBAM record honestly.

Half of this is alright, half of it is kind of a snooze fest.

I think before commenting here you should qualify yourself with your current rating on Alaska, Colors I, and Coma Ecliptic just so we can all identify what stereotypical btbam fan profile you currently occupy. It'll make this discussion much simpler, trust me.

Lmao but you’re a btbam fan that’s FORWARD THINKING AND BUILT DIFFERENT. We’re all really impressed, I promise.

Lmao but you’re a btbam hater that’s FORWARD THINKING AND BUILT DIFFERENT. We’re all really impressed, I promise.

Haha I’m taking your ripping me off as a compliment and there’s nothing you can do about it. Also, I wouldn’t call myself a hater. Not into their new shit at all but I had a lot of fun with the OG Colors and Alaska and The Silent Circus when I was in high school. They were kind of important at the time.
