That's encouraging if it really is their worst
...noticed Sput has Sarmat listed as an EP and Liquified as an LP, whereas on RYM it's the other way around

It depends on what you want I think. They lean into their jazz influences harder with Sarmat/Liquified which I think is for the better; makes it even more cursed.

I do like the sound of that. Liquified is next as it's more easily available, but will also seek out Sarmat for sure

That’s awesome you’re getting into Effluence, Demon! Those guys are something else. Agreed that Sarmat and Liquefied are better than PS, but PS is still amazing. Sarmat is probably my favorite.
Did y’all know it’s only two guys??

yeah, thanks for the inadvertent heads-up. I think you had Sarmat ranked very highly on a list here and I was curious enough to check
Liquefied is utter madness, damn and I thought PS was bonkers. Just heard it this morning. Yeah, insane that it's only two guys

Jammed Psychocephalic Spawning and enjoyed it so much more than the first go around due to my prior experience with Liquefied and Sarmat. As good as those two for me now.

that's cool to hear my list helped you find something you like! Got any thoughts on Sarmat?
i'm looking closer at the credits for all their albums now - i guess it's inaccurate to say that the band is two guys. seems more like it's led by this one guy, Matt Stephens, and that he's recruited several other folks to play certain instruments on certain tracks. so it's more like a collaborative project with a bandleader i guess.
the credits for Sarmat list only two guys though: Matt on all the instruments and Paul Acuña on vocals. and if the music is improvised (not certain of that, but tags like "improvisation" and "free death" give me that impression), that is like 10x more batshit insane. to improvise the drums, and then to separately improvise the guitar tracks in a way that fits with the drums? all in a style this physically demanding? this dude is nuts lol (and i am so here for it!)
another note on the credits: i just noticed that in the credits for Liquified, everyone got some sort of appliance-related nickname. kinda funny lol
