Man I fucking love that s/t all of a sudden.
It's like 2018's answer to the triumphant but kinda sad ending montage of an 80s film where they recognize that while they won and the days were good, everything comes to an end sometime

Every time I play this around people I’m asked two things:
“Is this Arcade Fire?” & “Is this Kings of Leon?”
Still good tho

As my first comment, I have decided to go to this album. I was introduced to this album by Ian Cohen (Pitchfork reviewer) who was a guest in a podcast that was naming their top albums of 2018. Foxing was his number one but what really caught my attention was how he described it, which was the same degree of satisfaction as Science Fiction by Brand New. Now I will probably go review that album later but him mentioning Brand New was enough to get me interested and boy am I glad I did! I can easily say Nearer My God is my AOTY for 2018 as well. I’ve seen some people on other comments asking where they see the Brand New connection and that’s where I saw it. When you listen to an album that demands your full attention from start to finish and forces you to really think about how you view things in the world…well that’s AOTY material to me.

gameshark rips off Kid A, which is why it is the best song on this album.

Don't get wrong I do appreciate some of the experimentation here like with electronica and what not, but I think they should've ditched the emo style and gone full indie.

After much deliberation, I do think this just barely edges out Dealer as my favorite record of their's. All three of their albums are fantastic, this one just has so much going on in it that it stands as their best overall work. The title track is so fucking phenomenal.
