Front half holds up for me hard, but yeah I kind of agree. I'll prolly drop it a bit.

Smooth is the word yeah. Nice to have technical parts that feel well earned and placed, and not once did I roll my eyes. This is a keeper. No wank.

Man don't let me think I could have seen them one week before the covid lockdown in Amsterdam, get completely hammered so as to forget the rest of 2020, and I decided willingly to stay home for 'budget' reasons.

sorry to hear that! I caught them last year in Cologne and it was just sick. One of the best live bands there is - even without a real "front man"

The closing moments of Vice Wave make me want to get out of my chair and shake this fucking house down to its foundation. The first three tracks seem to just build to that crushing finale, and I really wish the second half held up to that standard.

Phoenix is easily the highlight here. Just like all the Phoenix songs on the other records. I remember Aric saying that the Phoenix songs are always done after all the other songs are complete and they throw everything they have and know into these album closers.

I get more impressed every time I listen to this album, and I've already listened to it 50+ times in full. Album might be the most impressive use of instrumentals ever created.

These instrumentals are cool but they don’t come close to Counterparts’ most recent album
