Love the production on here but I think Obzen and Koloss both have a higher concentration of good songs

Obzen was the most overproduced thing they ever did but had the best songs.
This isn't as strong outright as Obzen, more Koloss p2. But Clockworks is the best here hands down.

Nothing got me into them back when it came out (holy shit that was 2002) so that album has a special place in my heart. Also it would be amazing anyway, but I understand not everyone is as insanely obsessed with every single album by this band like I am.

I was just thinking how 2002 was ages ago, chin straps and frosted tips ruled over all.
srs tho....Obzen was the album that got me into them. I remember this lame ass fucking metalhead and his stoner tool-loving friend I knew back in 2009 showing me Bleed and Electric red. I didn't understand wtf was going on and had never heard a lead guitar sound so tripped out.
I had fuck all money back then and never had consistent internet so I could only download a bit at a time. I jacked my then-neighbours wifi and got Chaosphere and and Obzen.
Good times.

Obzen got me into them because I found the Bleed music video and never turned back. However, Obzen is one of my least favorite albums by them including koloss but they are still 4's for me. Least favorite by a mile is Catch 33 (not including the debut album).

Hahaha that makes me so happy, yeah obZen is probably my second or third favorite by these guys - that album is absolutely insane.

Catch 33 is my favorite actually, but I totally understand why it is a lot of people's least favorite. I look at that album very differently than how I would look at Violent Sleep of Reason or DEI. This is probably my second favorite actually, obZen at 3.

Still to this day I struggle to listen to Bleed, its a fantastic and legendary song but we would spend hours stoned analyzing the hell out of it. I remember the drum/guitar pattern under the solo totally stumped us. It's such a long pattern that it rarely ever sounds like its "meeting up" up with the snare during the solo.

Chaosphere is my favorite followed by Nothing

Still need to check this

The drumming on Bleed makes absolutely no sense. It was even a major challenge for Haake, I think I remember him saying that song alone took up longer than every other song on that album combined.
Literally any order of Meshuggah albums would make sense to me, I think I 5d everything by these guys except for Contradictions Collapse. The only other band I would do something like that for is Death.

Also Fear, I have asked u this before: is that Joanna from Mr Robot in your pic?
