I wonder if this still holds up? Just occurred to me that I’ve probably given this a thoroughly nostalgic pass without revisiting it at all recently. 2002 is a bloody long time ago, lol (don’t worry it’s not been that long since I re-checked)

It does not, I was considering swapping for it for my record of the month when I was subscribed to VMP last year cuz my inner child was interested and so I tried to listen to it and all it did was trigger me

“better than the last two at least”

Soon to be three, but I don’t have the painful association of being an adolescent inseparably imposed on those irrelevant piles of shit

Idk this holds up pretty well, especially First It Giveth through to Hanging Tree (if you ignore the utterly pointless Six Shooter). I could include No-One Knows here, I’ve just heard it a zillion times already, still I’d cut Go With The Flow before it (similar reasons, just isn’t as essential imo). The radio station rubbish / concept is stupid af and honestly detracts from the experience somewhat, but the actual songs are solid.

No idea why Mosquito Song has to be a ‘hidden track’ when it’s one of the best things they’ve ever written. I guess the t/t makes for a good closer, but when a bonus cut is actually better than a lot of the main course, it definitely induces an eye-roll.

When I listen to other music I can hear this album playing in the background, I'm that schizo but more likely just an usual Queens of the Stone Age fangirl.

How the fuck do you know multiple adult human people that need to be shown songs for the deaf for the first time?

one of their better songs I reckon

definitely understand why it might be a turn off for some people though

I’ll probably drop this down, my taste has changed a lot in 21 years, but yeah this actually holds up remarkably well. A hell of a lot better than pretty much any other rock music I was listening to back then at least.
